Monzyk Innovations New Addition
Monzyk Innovations LLC is a Shoals-based water puricaon and strategic metals consulting company located in the Shoals Business Incubator. The company was founded by Sally Monzyk and Dr. Bruce Monzyk in 2017. Dr. Monzyk has about 80 patents and has dedicated his life to environmental and economical industrial chemistry and water purification. One of his passion projects has been extracting metals from water in coal mining regions of the country, such as in Appalachia, that have been in crisis due to the contaminated water resulting from coal mining.
Monzyk Innovations LLC is qualified to do a wide variety of chemical consulting with a fully equipped lab and analytical area in their 3000 square foot space. Dr. Monzyk has expertise in extractive metallurgy, surface finishing, electric synthesis, liquid-liquid extraction, industrial forensics, chemical separations and IP capture and patent preparation.
Monzyk Innovations LLC recently purchased a 500 gallon jacketed glass lined reactor that is an extremely versatile unit. It is glass-lined for thousands of chemical reactions and jacketed for the heat and/or cooling process. Monzyk Innovations can use the reactor to make chemical products, purify raw products for reuse/recycle or formulate products.
One of the uses for the reactor is to create a new class of extractants for metal ion removal from water. During the process, chemicals for fertilizer, chemicals for PVC piping, house siding and commodity metals will be extracted. High value strategic metals, such as lithium, magnesium and rare earth metals will be extracted as well.
Monzyk Innovations LLC is working with water technology companies and are actively searching for other partners and government agencies as the company grows.
