Jus' A-Mayes-N Popcorn

They call her “the popcorn lady”, but Vivian Baldwin started Jus’ A-Mayes-N Popcorn in 2017 from her love of gourmet popcorn. Her love affair with popcorn began with a visit to the mall. They had a gourmet popcorn stand where she tried some gourmet popcorn for the first time. After that visit, she went back to the mall for more but the stand was gone. A few years later, during a trip to Atlanta, her family surprised her with a trip to a popcorn shop with 125 flavors. During that visit, Vivian thought “I can make better popcorn”.

And Jus’ A-Mayes-N Popcorn was born.

After perfecting her recipe and getting licensed; Vivian decided to rent time in a culinary kitchen rather than spend the huge investment in her own space. She started by calling a kitchen in Huntsville. They told her it would be 8 months before they had time available in their kitchen. Soon she found out about the Shoals Culinary Center.

The staff at the Shoals Business Incubator is easy to work with and helpful showing new clients around the kitchen. Using a culinary center to produce her popcorn was “an easy and economical decision” Vivian said. The best part is that all you have to do is pick up the phone and call to schedule kitchen time.
