Client Spotlight: Global Asia Resource
“Business is in his family” says Rodney Robbins of Global Asia Resource. “My father was a self-made man” talking about how his father started a tire business and later got into floor covering. Entrepreneurship has been instilled in him all of his life.
In 1989, he and his father started Kitchen Art, a kitchen products company. They started with Rodney’s idea of a spice rack, Select-a-Spice Auto-Measure Spice Rack. And the business grew from there.
Kitchen Art designed products for Pampered Chef and sold their own product lines. Rodney’s father retired from the business after 5 years. After his retirement, Rodney took the product manufacturing overseas to China and developed a relationship with the Chinese manufacturers that he still continues today.
After 20 years in business, Rodney sold Kitchen Art to a company called Fox Run Brands. He worked for Fox Run five years developing products before going on his own. He started a partnership with Steff Industries to develop tooling and import tools from China. To date, he has imported around 100 tools for Steff Industries and is still working with them on ongoing projects.
Currently, he is still developing products and sourcing offshore manufacturing. He has been working with Jeremy Stafford developing a device to aid home infusions. Jeremy is the 2021 Shoals Idea Audition winner and on to compete in Launch Tank. With 67 patents to his name, Rodney is still designing and developing with much more to come.
